Aloha, and welcome to Aloha Activism; Aloha Ola O Ka Pono official website . My name is Jasmine Sara Steiner , and I am a born and raised child of Hawaii, a "daughter of Puna", and i am the one who created this Puna LERZ Community geothermal awareness platform. I have been lucky enough to be born and raised on 3 of the world's largest volcanos (Kīlauea, Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea ) , with 2 of these being the world's top most active volcanoes.

I come from a extremely beautiful and sacred rural raw hawaiian kingdom community specifically on the lower Puna coastline of the lower east rift zone of Kīlauea volcano: Leilani Estates and the Pohoiki-Kalapana Coast (aka the "RED Road" , from Kapoho to Kaimu Kalapana). Down here, we are the forgotten ones in my homelands of Moku O Keawe, yet it is one of the most culturally sacred and religiously cherished in Hawaiian traditions : Kumukahi , "Ladder of the sun" where all life springs forth (see the cultural documents section of website ). Due to the foreign entity in our backyards, I have witnessed, my entire Human Life, the political agendas and oppression that the Puna people endure, most specifically out past Pahoa in my areas. Not even the occupations police force come into the areas of kaimu as it's kingdom law down here... 

I was raised with a immense love for my homelands and its culture and religion . My grandma was well known down here and well loved, and was accepted as one of their own at uncle Robert's and aunty G girls. Through this relationship, my grandma became partners with them and their religious home church and activities , and we grew up (my 6 cousins and i) being welcomed as their own as well. I give thanks daily for this immense gift that were my kupunas . They are the ones who guide me today , every step. Shining from heaven above. 


Throughout my over 35 years living at the base of Puna Geothermal Venture, I have experienced decades of the single most covered up issue in all of Hawaiian Kingdom since the overthrow: the lie and propaganda that is "clean energy " or "green" energy.  Since I was 6 months old, israeli owned ormat has been in my backyards stripping my entire community of its health, vitality and human rights, and conpletely erasing its culture as this fake state tries to keep it a industrialized zone under the false guise of "clean ebergy" when our island gets only a mere 16% from  this volcano mining venture. It's simply time we breathe now.

Throughout the last decade or more, my own mom has been the lead activist in our communities movement that is trying to save our home . She is the paralegal who filed the Hawaii Geothermal Injunction this year for our people here to finally be free of it all (see website for injunction and all declarations within it and rsvp to stand in solidarity) . I myself have been invilved in community activism for the past 6 since loosing everything i have ever known in life when PGV blew up our neigborhood "quenching their wells" in 2018, and have my own business and projects here on Moku O Keawe which I have compiled into this website as well for you (jazzyislandjewelry est 2012 , Aloha Activism Spotify podcast, KahuPuna, A'OLE PGV, #LERZPUNANEWSBLOG, and more to come 😉 (remember, grabd opening is August 13th! This website is a testament to my extreme LOVE for my homelands , for my deep GRATITUDE to tutu Pele and Ke Akua for this amazingly sacred home and all its beauty within, and hopefully a catalist in the 40 year long fight to #FREEPUNA .
