I'm still here , unshaken . Help educate the ones you love via the Hawaii Geothermal Community website .

It's surprising how some folks still don't take me seriously in this fight, but I get it—change takes time. Some of the older generation who protested back in the day might overlook us younger folks, even though we’re living this reality every day and have learned so much from it.

Since 2018, when many people left this area, I have dedicated myself wholeheartedly to safeguarding my home, family, and tutu. I was born here in 1988, and not a single community member remains from the days of protesting geo back in the Wao Kele era. It's been incredibly challenging trying to reach out.

I’ve got a ton of geothermal knowledge to share as KahuPuna and as my personal self with 36 years constant living it—think of me as a walking encyclopedia! I’ve documented 55 years of the 70 years of drilling history here, and my followers know the timeline well. The "State of Hawaii" was meant to be a major U.S. electricity hub, and I’ve shared old newspaper articles from the late 1800s where Cleveland himself said, “That volcano could power every household in the United States—we’ve got to get our hands on it!”

I’ve also posted health studies showing serious issues, like high cancer rates and asbestos in our water, similar to what’s happening in New Zealand (check out my research posts from yesterday!). So, if you’re tempted to dismiss me because I’m younger or you stood in a protest in 1992, let’s remember we’re all on the same team, fighting for the same cause.

For years, I’ve been sharing clear data, doing my best to inform everyone, even when some call me crazy or a lunatic. But I’m still here, unshaken, and ready to keep going. That’s something we can all smile about, right?

I often question why no one seemed to care or wanted to speak up all these years, despite knowing the struggles and challenges faced by the Puna people. It deeply troubles me. I've always known that when they eventually attempt to drill Mauna Kea and the rest of the island, people would finally take notice. However, this reality is a harsh one. Puna is truly Pele's domain. Culturally, it is her dwelling place, and she has been calling out for generations. Why have her people ignored this until now, when they want to drill Mauna Kea? The area where the geothermal activity is located, and has been for some time, is the very spot that breathes life into all the sacred sites across the islands, including Mauna Kea, sacred Kumukahi . Waters of Kane .

IT GENUINELY MAKES NO SENSE and im struggling to find peace in it . They contradict themselves majorly in the causes they pick amd choose maybe by convenience ir ? Idk. so its extremely hard as a child of Puna who was taught certain things about being Aloha and being PONO.

Because of this, I have attempted for years to reach out through the We Are Mauna Kea channels, only to be ignored, dismissed, and blocked when seeking help for PELE. It is highly contradictory to treat Mauna as a sacred element while disregarding Kīlauea. This has led me to lose all respect for many prominent activists who deliberately ignored and blocked Puna for years, only to now join the fight when Mauna is involved (#auwe).

I understand that many might become upset (feel guilty) or come up with excuses, but the main point of this post is this: you are either for the āina or not. The Puna community has been voicing their concerns for a long time, and the truth is that if those who are now taking a stand had done so all these years, as we pleaded for anyone to care, 1- we wouldn't be in the difficult situation we're in now, 2- we wouldn't have lost actual people within the geo radius who have actually died , and 3- we would have better health, and our keiki would have had the opportunity to develop properly.

Let's not let fear win anymore

I'm aware we can't return to the past, but we can move forward. If you were someone who blocked, ignored, and ridiculed the Puna people for years while supporting causes like Mauna and Red Hill, can you explain why it's important to you now? I'm eager to understand.

And if your here genuinely to help our home and mādame Pele . Thank you for taking this keiki o ka aina serious . The suffering is immeasurable since 2018 andmajor, major justice is due,

Stay tuned and keep checking the research files on website each week I add more of my research links .

Aloha
