•Waiakahiʻula name used once again by the people of Puna

"Kahakai Park in the Hawaiian Beaches Subdivision of Puna on Hawaiʻi Island now goes by a new name — Waiakahiʻula.
The name change honors the original place name and the rich cultural history of the area.
Waiakahiʻula means "the place where the water runs red."
Fishermen of the area say the cascading streams along the area's cliffs take on a reddish hue during hoʻoilo or the wet season from November to April.....
The park contains remnants of an old Hawaiian village of Waiakahiʻula, including a well-preserved canoe shed, foundations of a house and various agricultural sites."
this makes me so happy for sure.. and reminds me that there are so many cultural artifacts to be preserved and protected along kumukahi to kalapana ... The coastal area of Waiakahiʻula became the final resting place for many iwi kūpuna."

••• 7-10-24 Hawai’i Island Police Arrest And Charge Puna Man For Various Crimes
"Media Release
On Monday, July 8, 2024, at 11:26 a.m., Puna District patrol officers responded to a report of an active assault in the area of the 14-2800 block of Government Beach Road, in Pahoa.
Upon arrival at the scene, responding officers contacted a 49-year-old Puna man, who reported being in a traffic accident with the suspect, who became violent towards him.
The victim reported that while attempting to call police, the suspect attacked and assaulted him, by biting and punching him. The victim also stated that the suspect struck him with a hatchet and threatened to kill him.
The victim sustained a laceration to his right forearm from being struck with the hatchet and also sustained numerous abrasions in various areas of his body. The victim also reported that the suspect slammed his cellphone into the ground destroying it, and struck numerous areas of his vehicle with the hatchet causing damages.
The suspect’s vehicle was recovered at the scene and was towed to the Hilo Police Station secured vehicle evidence cage pending the execution of a search warrant.
Both the victim and suspect were transported to the Hilo Benioff Medical Center for treatment of their injuries, and were both released shortly thereafter.
Officers arrested the suspect who was identified as 44-year-old Daniel Jones, of Pahoa. "

Bail for Jones was set at $21,300.00."

These 3 arrests show a good comparison of the bullcrap justice system in Hawaii, which is why om putting them In today's news entries. ••••Puna man arrested, charged with attempting to light 15-year-old boy on fire
38-year-old George Dale Foote, Jr, allegedly tried to unalive his live in girlfriends son, who was coming to try and speak to her, by dousing him with gasoline and chasing after him as hes lighting the torch lighter as if to set him on fire. Praying for the 15 year Olds emotional health
"PAHOA, Hawaii (Island News) - Hawaii Island Police arrested and charged 38-year-old George Dale Foote, Jr. for incidents against a teenager.
On July 2, Puna patrol officers responded to a home panic alarm on Kamanu Street where Foote reported an intruder on his property. Allegedly, it was Foote's live-in girlfriend's 15-year-old son who knocked on the door.....
The teen told officers Foote came out and told him to leave then grabbed a small bucket of gas and a torch lighter from the back of his truck. When the victim asked to speak with his mother, Foote threatened to light him on fire. After Foote called out for the victim's mother who did not come out of the house, he dosed him with the gas causing the boy's eyes to burn.....
The teen ran to the road where Foote followed him and the victim reported hearing Foote ignite the torch lighter."

"Police arrested Foote and the Hawaii County Prosecutor's Office charged him with the following offenses:
Terroristic Threatening in the first degree
Attempted Assault in the first degree
Assault in the second degree
Assault in the third-degree
Reckless Endangering in the second degree
Island News was able to get in contact with George Foote. He is currently speaking with his lawyer and getting advice as to whether or not he should tell his side of the story.
Foote’s bail was set at $24,000 and was later released on bond."

Yesterday, there was a "Presumed Kidnapping" incident captured on camera in Hilo town, and the Police were seeking any leads. Today, on July 10th, it has been reported that the kidnapped victim has been located, but he is unwilling to provide any information about the abduction. It's quite obvious that the perpetrator must have threatened him not to disclose anything. It's surprising to hear the police mentioning issues with the video quality, when they have technology that can enhance images and locate vehicles quickly. They should focus on doing their jobs effectively. #HPD , #AOLE brahs. Wake up. Look at your own image HPD (below, the green shirt you see being pushed into the Toyota truck, I'd the kidnapping victim... HPD is trying to act like they can't figure out the truck owners because the video is "grainy" pffft. It's 2024, brahs.)

"The victim has only been identified as a 23-year-old #Puna man. Authorities say he was found Tuesday night in good health. So far he has refused to provide any information on this incident with police. (HMM)......
Video images showed the man being taken by force from the parking lot of a shopping center.
According to the witness, three men got out of the truck, approached the victim -- who was standing outside his car -- and began assaulting him. The men then forced the victim into the back seat of the Tundra and took off.
As cellphone video was taken at a distance, it was hazy and police faced challenges in identifying both the victim and the three suspects."

(we are not America, this is the Hawaiian Kingdom as we all know) : this video was uploaded 5 hours ago today July 10th 2024 on YouTube. It's sad. He states how undesirable Hawaii is. And he is sooooooo uneducated . But it's what is being put out to the world regarding Hawaii homelessness.
