In the pristine lower Puna Coastal areas of Hawaii, where lush greenery and diverse wildlife once thrived, a silent threat looms large. The peaceful facade that nature presents belies a more insidious reality - the dangers posed by geothermal toxins. As we revel in the beauty of our surroundings, are we overlooking the toxic cocktail that pervades our environment, impacting not just our plants but also the very game animals we hunt for sustenance?

The Unseen Peril Beneath Our Feet
Geothermal energy, touted as a sustainable alternative, carries with it a host of risks that often go unmonitored. The very processes that drive the extraction of this energy can release heavy metals and cancerous particulate matter into the environment. Imagine our food sources, the vegetables we grow, the meat we consume, all potentially tainted by these pollutants. How can we trust the safety of our sustenance when it is being soaked in such hazardous substances?
Image: the DLNR hunter check in station , inage taken on 080224, that just appeared this past year by malama ki forest reserve (MacKenzie coast in opihikau) . My entire 36 years born and raized in Puna we have never had a hunters station down here . The air and toxins in the ā'ina have also NEVER been worse. There is no way in the world these pigs are on to eat. Yet they are acting like they are fine and having native Hawaiians eat them. That's a personal injury claim in itself. Pigs are one of the only game animals that don't process toxins . They don't have a gal bladder. They hold all toxins in body. #aolepgv Ashley kirka , district 4 rep, better start doing her job and STOP LYING to the people she serves about any health studys EVER being done down here. She's in for a load of karma.
The Plight of Endangered Species
Among the lush greenery and vibrant ecosystem lies a precarious balance that is constantly being threatened. The endangered species that call this region home are particularly vulnerable to the effects of geothermal toxins, such as the 'io , the Hawaiian hawk and the Alala , Hawaiian crow which they want you to believe is extinct in the wold yet lives in kapoho coastal areas. See previous article on this issue amd my correspondence with DLNR here--> https://wearepuna.wixsite.com/aloha-activism/post/unveiling-the-ecological-crisis-hawaii-s-hawks-and-the-battle-against-ecocide
As these toxins infiltrate the air and water, wildlife struggles to survive in an increasingly hostile environment. The need for accurate studies to gauge the extent of this impact is crucial in safeguarding the delicate biodiversity of our coastal areas.
A Call for Action
The coastal community of the Lower East Rift Zone of Kilauea volcano, aka lower Puna, with its rich tapestry of life and culture, finds itself at a crossroads. The risks posed by unmonitored geothermal activities, the specter of fracking within the lower east rift zone of Kīlauea volcanoes weakest area, with no monitoring or health and water studies whatsoever in 40 years, and the pervasive presence of geothermal toxins demand urgent attention. #PunaLivesMatter is not just a hashtag but a rallying cry for a community in distress, seeking answers and solutions to protect its natural heritage.
♧ side note-- There is currently a petition circulating to remove district 4 representative Ashley Kirkawitch from office. Please keep an eye out for this petition and ensure that everyone signs it. When voting, do not select Ashley's name on the ballot. Instead, scratch her name off and write in Aaron Tolentino or leave it blank. It is important to remove Ashley from the Puna seat as she is backed by Puna Geothermal Venture and does not truly represent the interests of the Puna people or the endangered species in the area. She has failed to bring about any real recovery in the disaster-stricken regions and prioritizes her own financial gain. Despite claiming she would not seek re-election, she quickly changed her stance after facing a challenge. Two other candidates attempted to run against Ashley but were unable to do so. A detailed expose article on Ashley Kirkawitch, the current representative of Puna District 4, will be published separately.
Due to every representative being owned by Israeli Ormat (PGV), every business being supported by Puna geo sponsorships, and every Native Hawaiian in Oha and DHHL also being owned by Israeli Ormat, the Puna people are left in an extremely perilous and life-threatening situation. They have had 40 years to create the most vast false narratives this world has ever seen and they've had just as long to conceal the truths and the real dangers of geothermal, creating such a evil lie that it is clean in any way when people are dying due to the cancerous air in Leilani estates .
In 2018, Puna Geothermal Venture blew up their geothermal well fields quenching them with water beneath Leilani Estates, creating a ramped up explosive eruption that more than 730 livelihoods were erased in in the name of clean energy. Since then, Puna Geothermal Venture has effectively created a community in the dark within its vicinity, as unsuspecting residents who purchase homes in the area remain unaware of the presence of a chemical volcano drilling facility in their own backyards. It is unacceptable that real estate agents fail to disclose this crucial information, choosing to remain silent on the matter. The majority of individuals relocating to our region are either geothermal employees incentivized to stay healthy, or newcomers from the mainland with investments in Hawaii Energy, who may be oblivious to the situation and unquestioningly trust the assurances of those with financial interests.

Upholding Accountability and Advocacy
The current hawaii energy PGV Injunction sheds light on the pressing need for enhanced monitoring and oversight of geothermal ventures in the region. The injunctiondocuments and declarations are all on the homepage of the website for you to study and learn what is really happening under your homes if you live in Puna Hawaii.
This website serves as a platform for individuals residing in the vicinity of PGV, and it is a global platform dedicated to raising awareness about geothermal energy and providing authentic education on the subject. It aims to counter the misinformation circulating worldwide regarding geothermal energy, emphasizing the lack of genuine health, ecological, and cultural studies to support such claims. This raises doubts about the credibility of the information being disseminated. It highlights the irony of blindly trusting authorities who assert that everything is fine, akin to unquestioningly receiving novel substances through injections without comprehensive medical research, all to conform to societal norms. The website encourages visitors to engage with the Aloha activism platform, including its blog, forums, and cultural resources, to actively participate in preserving Hawaii's heritage. To explore further, simply visit the homepage using the provided link ❤️🔥🌋⚔️⚠️😭⚖️⚘️🙏🦅 and join in caring for Hawaii together.
As concerns over air and water pollution mount, it is imperative that steps be taken to mitigate the impact on both plant life and game animals. Through #AolePGV and #WeArePuna initiatives, voices are raised in unity to push for transparency and accountability from those responsible for the well-being of our ecosystem.

Preserving Our Environment for Future Generations
It is incumbent upon us to recognize the interconnectedness of all life forms and the environment. This IS the way of life here . Aloha ā'ina. We are one, the circle of life .the desecrationof that is being allowed and enabled by OHA and DHHL (the head at the geothermal is also a chairperson of DHHL- CONFLICT OF INTEREST) would simply have NEVER been allowed nor tolerated in the Hawaiian Kingdom. It would be considered treason under Kanawai.
The Puna plants, the game meat from hunting, the endangered species, humans, tūtū Pele, and her highly active kīlauea lower east rift , all being poisoned daily by PGV, all form a fragile interconnected system that supports all of us in Puna. By tackling the dangers presented by geothermal toxins, we safeguard not only our current well-being but also lay the groundwork for a sustainable future for future generations.
In conclusion, the challenges faced by the lower Puna Coastal areas from Kapoho to Kalapana serve as a stark reminder of the fragility of our ecosystem. By raising awareness, demanding action, and fostering a sense of stewardship towards our environment, we can strive towards a harmonious coexistence with nature. Let us stand united in our commitment to safeguarding the treasures of Puna, for indeed, it is time we breathe freely once again.
Eye lava you all.
Remember, the PunaVerse is better with YOU IN IT.
(unless you are PGV, ofcourse ⚖️😭⚠️)

If possible, I kindly ask for your assistance in achieving my goal. I am grateful for the generous donation of $50 from the first supporter towards the $300 GoFundMe campaign for a community organization's laptop for their website and blog. I dedicate my spare time and personal resources to this cause, as I have always done (years of community service, providing meals, holiday events, etc.), and I am in desperate need of support to raise awareness in our secluded rural area and make a difference.
